Journal privacy notice

This notice explains how the Select Prop Firms Journal handles your information. It adds to the Select Prop Firms privacy policy, which sets out who we are, how to contact us and your rights over your personal information.

What we store

• Your account: name, email address, timezone and a securely hashed password. We never store your password in readable form.
• Your journal: the trades, accounts, challenge rules, tags, notes, backtests and screenshots you add or import.
• Broker connections: if you connect TradeLocker or cTrader, we store the access tokens those platforms issue so we can sync your trades. If you connect MT5, your MT5 password is passed to MetaApi to set up the connection and is not stored by the journal.
• Security records: the IP address and browser of devices you sign in from, so we can warn you about sign ins from a new device.
• Usage counts: how many AI requests you make each day, so we can apply the daily limits.

How we use it

We use your information to run the journal for you: to show your analytics, track your challenge rules, sync connected accounts and send the emails you have chosen to receive. Account and security emails are always sent. Performance summaries and alerts can be switched off in your notification settings.

When you use the AI features, your trading statistics, any trade or notes you ask about and your question are sent to our AI provider to produce the answer. Your name and email address are not included.

We do not sell your information. The journal does not send your trades to any prop firm. Select Prop Firms staff can access account data when needed to provide support and keep the service secure.

Who processes it for us

• Render hosts the journal and its database in the United States.
• SendGrid delivers our emails.
• Anthropic provides the AI features.
• Amazon Web Services stores screenshots you upload.
• MetaApi, Spotware (cTrader) and TradeLocker are used only if you choose to connect an account on those platforms.

Cookies and storage

The journal sets one essential cookie that keeps you signed in. Your light or dark theme choice is saved in your browser. The journal does not use advertising or analytics cookies.

Keeping your information

We keep your information for as long as you have an account. You can delete individual trades, accounts and broker connections at any time. You can delete your whole account from the profile settings page, which permanently removes your journal, screenshots and broker connections.

Security

Connections to the journal are encrypted, passwords are hashed, sign in attempts are rate limited, and changing your password signs out your other devices.
